ABC’s of Clinical Trials and How Social Workers Can Help
Passion. Empowerment. advocacy. connection. education.
Welcome to the home of the Social Work Oncology Group of North Carolina. We are a non-profit organization that strives to connect social workers from all across the state who serve patients and families affected by cancer. Regardless of setting - inpatient oncology, outpatient cancer center, community-based palliative care or hospice home (to name a few), we all share the rich experience of caring for people as they navigate the complexities of cancer. SWOG-NC is proud to support the growing community of oncology social workers in North Carolina by promoting PEACE - Passion, Empowerment, Advocacy, Connection and Education.
Membership is offered to social workers in all stages of their careers: social workers in active practice, student social workers and social worker retirees. We also welcome those in other professions who align with social work values and recognize the importance of social work in oncology.
Our SWOG-NC Annual Conference is held each fall, giving participants opportunity to expand their knowledge about social work practice in oncology, to develop and hone leadership skills and to find community and connection with social work peers and others who seek to learn more about our rewarding work.
